My Garage presents Crapgame Coupe
1926 Ford Model T coupe

Summary:

Model T coupe hot rod

Description:

Half-built 1926 Model T coupe hot rod. Ford 302 mill, original body, all metal except for rear fenders. My first hot rod ... and I have virtually no experience with auto mechanics, so it's a challenge. It came in parts and now the engine is together and the fenders/running boards/splash aprons are in place. That required fabricating supports and figuring out how to secure the stock Model T sheet metal to a custom hot rod frame.

Sheet metal

The non-descript piece of metal trim with the cool notch (coincidentally, the same circumference as a Maglite flashlight) at the header has the distinction of being the last body part that needed to be fitted on my 1926 Model T coupe. It's been a struggle to piece everything together so that the sheet metal fits together, and then find a way to attach the various pieces to a custom hot rod frame with different geometry than the stock frame. With no experience to fall back on, it's taken months and been frustrating, but it appears to be done. Now everything comes apart to paint the frame.
